Baptism (Vol 1 No 93)

In this old Baptismal rite

We can gain a rich insight;

We are in God’s family,

And are loved quite equally.

God within and yet beyond

Is the One with whom we bond; 

We are all God’s family,

Have been loved from infancy.

By this symbol we portray

What we hear Christ Jesus say,

“You are in God’s family.

You are all loved constantly.”

Sometimes we neglect to do

What we know is good and true,

But we are God’s family,

And are loved so patiently.

As we follow Jesus’ way,

Living as he did each day,

We live like God’s family;

Serving others lovingly.

Learn of Jesus as we grow;

By his life and death we know

We are loved as family;

Loved for all eternity.
