Spirit Before Salvation

Sometimes we miss the obvious, there are many examples of the Spirit filling people before salvation in Christ was preached. Despite evangelicals insisting the Spirit could only fill Christ forgiven individuals. They assume this so they can say Cornelius was saved before baptism.

Luk 1:15  For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb.

John the baptist was filled from his mother's womb before Christ was born. He himself was unbaptized at the time.

God can fill men with the Spirit anytime he wants. There is no law that the Spirit would be made unholy if he touched or filled the sinner.

Luk 1:41  And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:

Luk 1:67  And his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost, and prophesied, saying,

all filled before Christ was born or died.

The administration of the Spirit in Acts 2:17 is for a special time and purpose, but we do have precedent of the Spirit filling God's servants before being saved under New Testament conditions.
