Source Does not Matter

Catholics and Pentecostals can argue the gifts continued saying, "only some sources ceased". Such as laying on of hands by the apostles. While other sources continue such as direct gifts from God as in Acts 2 or Ephesians 1:17.

Paul does not make a distinction of source, but simply says the gifts would cease.

The Pentecostal argument thus falls apart since the gifts will simply cease whether from the Apostles hands or from God directly.

Eph 4:13  Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

1Co 13:11  When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 1Co 13:10  But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. 1Co 13:9  For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

Gifts ceased, source did not matter.
