Ordinances vs Ordinances

The greek word for ordinances when speaking of Old Testament vs New Testament isn't the same. One uses the idea of laws decided by man vs transmissions from God to man.

We are freed from Old Testament ordinances but bound to New Testament transmission from God to the Church.

This word is usually referring to a law or decree. It is the greek word dogma, which is often an opinion turned into law.

Dogma could be the making of ceremonial laws God did not hand down. The decisions of the council of Nicea or the founding of Christmas or Easter laws.

This word is any transmission. It can be a tradition of man, tradition from the fathers, or tradition/ordinance from God through the apostles.

The transmissions we are to keep are those from God thru the Apostles. I Corinthians 11:2, II Thessalonians 2:15, II Thessalonians 3:6

We are to keep Apostolic transmissions instead of dogma.
