Islams Weaknesses

Islam has many weaknesses when it comes to matching Old Testament scripture and prophecy. Their belief that a world-wide messiah would come from Islam is based upon a distorted view of prophecy. In reality Islamhas zero biblical support. Let me explain.

Abraham had two sons, Ishmael and Isaac, but the prophecies concerning each are very different.

1. The prophecy concerning Ishmael had in view a single nation with a physical connection. With 12 princes.

2. The prophecy concerning Isaac was that all nations would be blessed.

Islam did not have a prophecy concerning a world-wide messiah. Ishmael's prophecy was limited to 12 cities around Israel with city-princes.

Gen 17:20  And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.

A single nation which most scholars view as Midian. The princes were only local controlling cities of Midian.

Gen 25:13  And these are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebajoth; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,

Gen 25:14  And Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa,

Gen 25:15  Hadar, and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah:

Gen 25:16  These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, by their towns, and by their castles; twelve princes according to their nations. They were physical descendants of Ishmael and not spiritual descendants.

These 12 were called the princes and nations. What we must realize is this was fulfilled before Muhammed. Notice they dwelt from Shur to Havilah, and not associated with the region of Mohammed or Mecca. There is some question whether Mohammed was a descendant of Abraham. He did not live in the regions of Abrahams peoples.

We must also remember Abraham had sons to other concubines after Sarah's death. These were told to dwell in the east. These are associated with countries east of Canaan, Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, India.

These had no physical connection to Ishmael.

Gen 25:1  Then again Abraham took a wife, and her name was Keturah.

Gen 25:2  And she bare him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah.

Gen 25:3  And Jokshan begat Sheba, and Dedan. And the sons of Dedan were Asshurim, and Letushim, and Leummim.

Gen 25:4  And the sons of Midian; Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these were the children of Keturah.

Gen 25:5  And Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac.

Gen 25:6  But unto the sons of the concubines, which Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts, and sent them away from Isaac his son, while he yet lived, eastward, unto the east country.

Muhammed lived well South of the area where the children of Abraham's concubines settled, and South of the Ishmaelites.

The prophecies concerning Abraham were for a single nation but a world-wide blessing. This does not match the prophecies concerning the Ishmaelites.

Gen 12:1  Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:

Gen 12:2  And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:

Gen 12:3  And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

This blessing was beyond the 12 princes of Ishmael, beyond the children of his concubines, covering all nations. We see this in the Gospel where we are commanded to teach all nations.

Mat 28:19  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Abraham an Isaac's blessing was a world-wide scope but Ishmael's limited to 12 city princes.

Gen 22:17  That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;

Gen 22:18  And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

From this we know Islam has no scriptural endorsement for a world-wide messiah through Ishmael. The promises of blessing were for the world through Isaac, who by God's intervention was spared, and became the Father of Israel and the seed line of Christ.

Prophetically Christianity is in a highly superior position to Islam. Islam has no scriptural support.
