Delivered to Rome

The idea that New Testament doctrine came forth from Rome is easily refuted by the Epistle to the Romans. Paul openly says the doctrine was delivered to them, and they were under obedience, not rule.

Rom 6:17  But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

Instead of looking at Rome as the originators of any doctrine, they received it as did all other churches.

Compare I Corinthians where that church received the doctrine versus giving it. Neither Rome nor Corinth were originators of Christian doctrine.

1Co 14:36  What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?

No single church originated the word, nor could any boast it came to them only.

Rome has nothing to boast about.
