The Husbandman

As shown in other articles Catholics viewed the Church Councils as works by the Holy Spirit, they are the embodiment of a false Pentecostal movement.

The Muratorian Canon used in Rome around 175 AD seems to say prophetic gifts were considered to have ceased, all the prophets being sealed. Their number could not be added to. This deviated from current Catholic theory.

The Council of Nicea is good evidence of human interpretation being portrayed as a work of the Spirit, even forcing people by ex-communication and even death to adhere to it.

The Council of Nicea was clearly not of God, it portrayed the Trinity as Co-equals. The Father and Son were seen as equal. Though both are referred to as God and have the attributes of God they are not equal in work and not equal in position. Just as husband and wife are both human and have equal right to salvation, on earth the husband was given authority over the wife. The Father likewise has a position over the Son.

This can be seen in John 15 and other passages and parables. Jesus is not co-equal in the Trinity, at least not in this era.

Joh 15:1  "I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.

Joh 15:2  Every branch in Me which does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch which bears fruit He prunes, so that it may bear more fruit.

As you can see the Father is the husbandman who dresses the vine while Christ is the vine, we are the branches whom God the Father either keeps and improves or cuts off and burns. The Father and Jesus are not co-equal.

Also consider Christ's statement, he was subject to his Father's commandments.

Joh 15:10  If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept  My Father's commandments and I abide in His love.

One verse that many have misused is John 5:18, it is a reference to likeness vs. positional equality.

Joh 5:18  Because of this the Jews were seeking all the more to kill Him, because not only was He breaking the Sabbath, but also He called God His own Father, making Himself equal with God.

The word equal is not a reference to Jesus and the Father being the same being but equal or the same in nature. Thayer's use of the word equal involves stature or quality.

ἴσος

isos

Thayer Definition:

1) equal, in quantity or quality

Part of Speech: adjective

It is used in Revelation of separate pillars of equal height. Jesus was equal to the Father in nature but not in position.

Even in John 5:18 Jesus maintains he is the son of his Father.

Jesus also maintains the idea we are the Father's children and does not assert himself into that position.

Mat_5:45  so that you may prove to be sons of your Father in heaven; because He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and He sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

Jesus also let's us know all authority is ultimately from the Father.

Joh_3:35  The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand.
