Preached Jesus

There are a couple of verses where the term "preached Jesus" or "preached Christ" is used, baptists use them to say all that matters is belief in the person of Christ. Preaching Jesus is much broader. As you look at the verses you see that there is more to preaching Jesus than his person, it includes his position and commands.

Since they leave out the commands of Jesus they are guilty of Revelation 22

Rev 22:19  And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

People who use general phrases to take away commandments will lose their part of salvation. I believe that. Lets look at the verses.

Act 8:5  Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.

Act 8:35  Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.

In both cases preaching Jesus had baptism included in the context, since baptism was offerred in the same sermon. Baptism was part of the things concerning the name of Jesus Christ.

Act 8:12  But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

in the 2nd example baptism was also included.

Act 8:35  Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus

Act 8:36  And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized

Baptism is included in the context of preaching Jesus, Preaching Christ, and the things concerning the kingdom. All such wording would include it.

This would show baptism does not fall under the guidelines of Romans 14:17. It is part of the kingdom.
