Bishops Around Rome

Cardinals are Bishops from other cities or countries that are given Bishop positions in the suburbs around Rome.

Thus Catholics do approve of multiple Bishops in a city in some cases. These Bishops are not really ruling in their diocese, they are given local property so that they can legally vote for the Pope.

Since local property was required for Rome voting rights, we can conclude Bishop of Rome was not a world-wide office.

Just the idea of multiple local Bishops in every city as we support and teach is actually supported by Catholics in some cases. Our position on organization is both biblical and historical. Not all Catholic offices are biblical. They do have positions such as Pope, Cardinal, Arch-Bishop that rise above the typical Bishop.

These are extra biblical offices created by man.

I just wanted to point out our doctrine isn't far fetched. There are multiple Bishops in the cities of the New Testament.

Php 1:1 Paul and Timotheus, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons:

Since no presbyters are greeted we can assume they were considered the Bishops as in Jerusalem and Ephesus..
