Jesus Did Not Receive Them

Karl Ketcherside penned the idea we must receive all who believe on Christ's name, thus supporting the protestant idea of Unity in Diversity. It was the idea that God receives all who believe in Christ's name, regardless of action or theology. This was prevalent in the Church of England as they tried to build a Christian government from a shell of differing faiths.

Yet, Christ himself failed to follow the practice.

Joh 1:12  But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name

Belief didn't guarantee Christ's acceptance of all who believe.

Joh 2:23  Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did.

Joh 2:24  But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men,

Joh 2:25  And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.

We see here that belief did not mean Christ accepted you, especially when you were unwilling to live openly. In Lieu of this event he taught you must be born again and have your deeds wrought in God.

Joh 3:5  Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Joh 3:6  That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

and

Joh 3:19  And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

Joh 3:20  For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

Joh 3:21  But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Very simple, Christ expected us to do truth. A denomination twisting reality isn't Christ's.

Our deeds, living openly and in accordance with Christ's instruction will precede Christ's acceptance of us.

Joh 3:36  He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
