Judgment Before Canon

The issue of settling disputes among Christians has grown into a legal hierarchy in the Catholic church. They have established a legal framework of courts and judges administered by Rome.

The Signatuara is one of the church’s three legal tribunals. The other two are the Roman Rota and the Apostolic Penitentiary.

Thus, they have instituted three levels of courts to settle matter under Catholic Canon. Canon being their man-made law.

The problem is the early church made judgments based in wisdom vs. a legal Canon.

1Co 6:5  I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?

They were able to settle disputes before Canon and its courts were implemented.

It seems to be through an arbiture type process, not a court.

The Canon judicial system is human and not Holy Spirit given.

It seems early judgments were locally administered, without giving power to Rome or other invented hierarchy. The wise man was among them and not a foreigner.
