No Papal Office

If you look at Paul's list of inspired offices in Ephesians 4 what you should notice is all are plural and there is no Papacy.

The Papacy was created by man and not by the Holy Spirit.

Notice there is no Papacy in this list.

Eph 4:11  And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

Eph 4:12  For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

Eph 4:13  Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

That means that before fullness came into the church no Papacy existed. The Papacy wasn't necessary for edification. Peter received the keys to the kingdom during this period. Thus, keys did not produce or imply the office of the Papacy

That is why Matthew 16:18-19 shouldn't be viewed as the Papacy, since it doesn't mention Roman Bishops and there is no link to Rome.

Plus all the offices embrace plural numbers, the Papacy is based upon a single office holder, all the inspired offices are plural.

Notice that in a similar list in I Corinthians 12 no Papacy is listed as an office.

Apostles are listed first

1Co 12:28  And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

The Papacy is not listed as an office in the Church. Nor is it listed as a ministry. Since the Apostles plural were first, there was no papal office over them.
