Ek vs Dia

Small words often make the biggest points of confusion. I often heard the biggest word in the New Testament was "if". One small word can make a total difference in faith.

With the confusion of Catholicism came the disruption of knowledge, and a constant dismissal of greek for latin, so that the technical points of Greek scripture became more misunderstood. If you study closely ek is not used with salvation, ek is used with justification, however.

The greek words ek (from) and dia (through) are a great example. Faith only is actually supported by and  stems from the misunderstanding of these two words.

God used different words on purpose concerning salvation and justification.

Since the verses in Eph 2, Titus 3, and James 2 have two different words as contexts, salvation vs justification, it changes whether ek should be used vs dia in relation to the role of works..

Justification is part of the process in salvation, but not the final end or the beginning, God saves after justification. This is a very important concept to understand.

Justification can be (ek) of works.

Salvation cannot be (ek) of works.

Salvation can be (dia) by works.

Salvation can be (dia) by faith.

Eph 2:8 ForG1063 by graceG5485 areG2075 ye savedG4982 throughG1223 faith;G4102 andG2532 thatG5124 notG3756 ofG1537 yourselves:G5216 it is theG3588 giftG1435 of God:G2316

Eph 2:9 NotG3756 ofG1537 works,G2041 lestG3363 any manG5100 should boast.G2744

Salvation itself is not (ek) Of (originating from) Works. It is (dia) by faith.

and

Tit 3:5 NotG3756 byG1537 worksG2041 ofG1722 righteousnessG1343 whichG3739 weG2249 have done,G4160 butG235 accordingG2596 to hisG848 mercyG1656 he savedG4982 us,G2248 byG1223 the washingG3067 of regeneration,G3824 andG2532 renewingG342 of the HolyG40 Ghost;G4151

Salvation is not (ek) of/by works.

Salvation is (Dia) by the washing of regeneration.

When comparing Ephesians Eph 2 and Titus 3 we can see salvation is:

not of (ek) works

not of (ek) yourselves

not by(ek- translated "of" in other verses) works of righteousness

but salvation is

by (dia) faith

by (dia) the washing of regeneration

Thus salvation isn't of (ek) faith either, salvation is (dia) by faith and (dia) by the washing of regeneration.

Titus 3:5 leaves the impression ek and dia are used interchangeably, which is untrue, but both are translated "by" in the verse..

EK(of) involves origination or final completion, dia (by) involves instrumentality or process.

Thus, works do not originate or complete salvation, but they can be in the process itself. since dia preceeds it.

Faith does not originate or complete salvation either, it is in the process since dia is used before it.

Faith and works both come before God's final salvation but do not originate salvation.

Now compare justification to salvation. (ek) is used with justification.

Faith only teachers do not want to admit Justification follows and flows from works and faith.

Jas 2:24 Ye seeG3708 thenG5106 howG3754 that by(ek)G1537 worksG2041 a manG444 is justified,G1344 andG2532 notG3756 by(ek)G1537 faithG4102 only.G3440

Since ek(of) is used in James 2:24, though translated by, it shows faith and works preceed justification, and justification comes from both.

Justification can come out from works.

Justification is not from faith alone.

Faith only groups fail to understand justifification is not salvation, justification is the process toward salvation, therefore (ek) can be used with justification..Justification is not a beginning or end in salvation, it is in the process however. Dia is used with faith and works because both are instrumental or in the process of salvation.

Justification can be of(ek) faith and works, where salvation is of (of) neither, but by (dia) both.

The Holy Spirit's use of ek and dia were very precise.

Ephesians 2:8-9 do not prohibit justification (ek) of works at all, for it is dealing with the overall salvation process, not the intermediary steps within the process of justification.
