Theodoret Censorship

One example of censorship of the scriptures is Theodoret's removal of 200 copies of the Diatessaron from parishes under his control. Remember the Diatessron contained passages that have been left out of the Codex Vaticanus.

Thus we see that Catholics were aware of the discrepancies and worked to weed out competing view points concerning which manuscripts were accurate. As stated elsewhere the Codex Vaticanus was likely altered to support infant baptism and other doctrines.

The Diatessaron was in general agreement with the Peshitta Aramaic and the Received Text.
