Stopping Their Ears

Faith was produced by God's miracles, this was a grace. Yet, not all continued to listen.

Act 4:5 And it came to pass on the morrow, that their rulers, and elders, and scribes,

Act 4:6 And Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem.

Act 4:7 And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this?

Act 4:8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,

Act 4:9 If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole;

The leaders of Israel knew the miracles were real but refused to follow and consent to the apostles. Thus, power did not force them to consent.

Mat 13:15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear withtheir ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

Mankind can close the natural senses preventing their salvation.

Act 7:57 Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord,

Grace was not irresistible. The miracles were a grace as many other.

The scriptures are a grace that many refuse to consent to. Grace isn't irresistible.

God's grace can be overshadowed by man's perverted reasoning.
