Apostles Commands

Catholics tend to think that Peter had authority over all the other Apostles but we know that the Holy Spirit gave and saw their commands as equal. Peter saw their commands as equal.

Act 1:2  Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:

The commands actually came from Christ and through the Holy Spirit. So that the commands were not personally chosen but were delivered by God. Peter did not have the right to bind and loose without the Holy Spirit directing him, nor did the other apostles. Also notice all the apostles were chosen of God, thus an equality.

Later Popes who claimed the right to bind and loose based upon personal authority were incorrect.

Peter follows this design,

1Pe 1:12  Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.

The things preached were directed by the Holy Ghost, and were not by personal choice or judgment.

1Pe 1:22  Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:

1Pe 1:23  Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

Peter makes it very clear that our obedience was directed by the Spirit through the collective work of the apostles, and not by Peter only.

2Pe 3:2  That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour: .

Each apostle followed the same commands by the same Spirit.

Those dispersed were told to follow the commands no matter the Apostle who gave it.
