Believe On and Baptism

Some teachers go out of their way to separate belief on Christ from baptism, but in some cases baptism is what is meant by believing on Christ.

Consider:

Act 19:4  Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. 

Act 19:5  When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 

In their understanding of their language they believed on Christ by being baptized in his name.

That was Paul's usage.

Because Christ commanded baptism, honoring it was giving glory to his position as the Christ.
