James Against Depravity

The doctrine of Original Sin introduced the idea that man was totally depraved, or unable to do any good at all.

Men such as Augustine, Calvin, Wesley all taught man was morally depraved after Adam's sin.

Quite the opposite was true, man was able to know right and wrong.

By knowing right, man was able to do right.

Gen 3:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

Mankind actually became more morally aware in the Garden.

James wrote that man could know to do good.

Jas 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

Man was fully able to know good and do it from the Garden of Eden on.
