Musical Instruments

There is a lot more evidence for non-instrumental music than people think. Justification by faith occurred before instruments were invented.

Abel was shown to be justified by faith in Gen. 4:1-4 but instruments weren't shown to be used until Gen. 4:17-21. Plus, those who used instruments were from the offspring of Cain, who separated himself from society.

Neither Noah nor Abraham were from this family.

That kind of proves instruments weren't used by those justified until Moses' law. All God's people were justified by faith without instruments until Moses.

The law according to Galations 3 was meant to be temporary. It was brought in for a purpose and then removed by Christ at the Cross.

Gal 3:17  AndG1161 thisG5124 I say,G3004 that the covenant,G1242 that was confirmed beforeG4300 ofG5259 GodG2316 inG1519 Christ,G5547 theG3588 law,G3551 which wasG1096 four hundredG5071 andG2532 thirtyG5144 yearsG2094 after,G3326 cannot disannul,G208 G3756 that it should make the promise of none effect.G2673 G3588 G1860

The law came after the promise to Abraham by 430 years and that covers the period from Abraham to Moses. The law was temporary til Christ was empowered and the faith had come..

.Gal 3:24  WhereforeG5620 theG3588 lawG3551 wasG1096 ourG2257 schoolmasterG3807 to bring us untoG1519 Christ,G5547 thatG2443 we might be justifiedG1344 byG1537 faith.G4102

Gal 3:25  ButG1161 after that faithG4102 is come,G2064 we areG2070 no longerG3765 underG5259 a schoolmaster.G3807

The only question is whether instruments were considered part of the law, which they clearly were. Moses commanded them and David when moving the ark considered himself to be bound by those commandments.

Instruments were temporary as the law was temporary.

Justification by faith under the New Covenant does not require the works of our hands such as instruments.
