Footnotes Were Lies

The footnotes of Timothy and Titus declare they were the first Bishops of Ephesus and Cretia.

Yet, keep in mind they were sent to ordain elders/Bishops in those cities, not be the Bishops.

Tit 1:5 For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:

Tit 1:6 If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.

Tit 1:7 For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;

1Ti 3:1 This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.

1Ti 3:2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

Paul is talking to Titus about ordaining Bishops in Crete, andTimothy about men who would desire to be Bishops in Ephesus. Ephesus already had Bishops but there was a constant change as men grew older or passed away, and corrupt men were always seeking the offices.

The footnotes are lies, how could they be Bishops, especially the first Bishop, when they were sent to ordain others to the office.

The footnotes do prove the singular Bishop system was not developed yet.

Paul also sent Timothy to Philippi, not to make him a Bishop, for they already had Bishops.

Php 1:1 Paul and Timotheus, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons:

Php 2:19 But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timotheus shortly unto you, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know your state.
