Giuseppe Céspedes was born and raised in New Jersey. He is of Peruvian-Italian descent, and he is bilingual in English and Spanish. With the help of his students, he hopes to make Portuguese his third language. His passions include music, reading, writing, soccer, and traveling the world. He has traveled to Ghana, Guatemala, Honduras, Costa Rica and Perú. He is learning how to dance forró, and he would also like to learn how to surf. He also hopes to form a band with local musicians in Ilhéus. Professionally, he has worked as a coordinator for a community service program at Rutgers University and as a Children´s Librarian for the Newark Public Library. While in Brazil, Giuseppe will be working at UESC as an English Teaching Assistant through a Fulbright grant.
