Although...

"Anglophone Literature" is widely and scholarly taken as literatures in English produced by writers from nations that are former colonies of Britain, excluding the United States, or as literatures by the Anglophone Other,

in this course [English Literature / Literatures in English],

"Anglophone Literature" refers to all literatures written in English by English-speaking authors, in order to keep the original and more poetical meaning of "Anglophone". Actually, in our context, we are the Lusophone Other working on Anglophone Literature.

That is our scope.
