Nancy Hernandez is an undergrad student from Pitzer College studying Environmental Policy. She is originally from Richmond, California, and enjoys reading, writing, exploring nature, and experimenting with photography and graphic design in her spare time. She is excited to be spending a semester abroad at the State University of Santa Cruz (UESC), in Ilhéus, Bahia, Brazil.

Hello, guys! I am an undergrad student. I study Letters (Or Liberal Arts, as some people call it). Besides loving language as a whole, I have worked as an English teacher for 10 years, but I started participating in UESC-ENGLISH last semester. I love teaching English because actually that always gives me the opportunity to learn something new, from my coworkers or from my students.

Shalon Rocha was born and raised in Ilhéus and he is majoring in Foreign Languages Applied to International Negotiations at UESC. Besides his love for English, he is also passionate about singing and languages. He has worked with Fulbright Program at university as a monitor where he developed his English skills. He has also been to the US where he had academic qualifications and business experiences in multicultural consulting and training, leadership, modern languages and public speaking. At a very young age, he excitedly seeks to help students to grow linguistically and professionally by exchanging knowledge and experiences. His favorite philosophy about life is from his mother: "Don't simply try to be better than people, be the best you can be for yourself."

My name is Kamilla Peixoto. I am an Electrical Engineering undergraduate student at UESC. In 2012, I was part of the Tutorial Education Program (PET-CA), when I developed projects and organized symposia. In 2014, I participated in a federal government exchange program called Science Without Borders, which allowed me to live in the United States and study at the North Carolina State University (NCSU) for one and a half years. I am very excited about having fun and teaching the English language.
Meu nome é Kamilla Peixoto. Atualmente, sou estudante do curso de Engenharia Elétrica da UESC. Em 2012, fiz parte do Programa de Educação Tutorial (PET-CA), quando desenvolvi projetos e organizei simpósios. Em 2014, participei do programa de intercâmbio do governo federal chamado Ciência sem Fronteiras, o qual me permitiu morar nos Estados Unidos e estudar na Universidade Estadual da Carolina do Norte (NCSU) durante um ano e meio. Sou uma entusiasta do lúdico no ensino de língua inglesa.
