THE VEE CHALLENGE
2014
FROM THE COAST TO THE MOUNTAINS
SUNDAY AUGUST 10th
EVENT BENEFICIARY
Izzy with Brian O Driscoll and Co..Temple street childrens Hospital.
"Get Busy for Izzy" is a fundraising initiative for Youghal girl Izzy O' Connell,
who is currently undergoing treatment in Temple Street Children's Hospital.
Izzy was diagnosed with a brain tumour on the 9th of February and within two days she underwent a 12 hour operation spending the next 9 weeks recovering from her marathon operation. After four weeks she undertook an intensive course of radiotherapy and chemotheraphy. Izzy's character shines through no matter how hard the recovery with a very matter of fact attitude. If she has to take not so nice medicine, she tells herself it is all to make her better and get back to normal. Izzy faces several more round of treatment in the coming months on her road to recovery. Youghal cycling club wish Izzy and her family the best in her treatment and would like to assist with the cost through the running of the Vee Challenge 2014.
