VEE CHALLENGE 2010

VEE CHALLENGE 2010

The Vee Challenge was ran off in brillant sunshine with a field of close to one hundred riders putting their signature to the sign on sheet, evenly split betwwen the 90km and 130km routes.

Leaving Youghal at 10.00am with a neturalised section through the town the large field was broken up on the tough climb past Lombards before the welcome descent to Tallow.

With the 90km route turning before the summit of the Vee,the 130km continued to Clogheen before climbing the tough ascent of sheeps pass before heading for the well earned food stop at the Cats bar.

After basking in the glourious sunshine and suitably refuelled the groups faced a stiff headwind for the road home to Youghal and the busy front strand full of daytrippers enjoying the beach.

Well done to everyone who participated and we hope you enjoyed the Vee Challenge and Vee ascent 2010.

Irish guide dogs for the Blind are the beneficiaries of monies raised so every pedal stroke in the August heat contributed to a great cause.Thank-you

Any feedback that you may have, both good and bad is welcome by the organisers so we can continue to enhance our club tour.mailto:youghalcyclingclub@gmail.com
