Things We Have Seen And Heard

While the dedicated members of Youghal C.C. tackled Killeagh Wood last weekend, rumor had it that two other members where playing with balls at the Handball alley. Nice one lads! hope ye had a good workout!!. The thinnest man in Youghal C.C. was also spotted during the week in Killeagh tucking into his cream cake lunch instead of wiring some plugs. He said he was trying to get some condition in for the winter but I know he bought the cakes at The Village Greengrocer and really just couldn’t help himself.

Weekend Spins.

As you are all well aware by now, there is a weekly spin every Sunday morning at 9.00 am sharp leaving from Moby Dicks Pub by the Clock Gate. This spin which runs on various routes every week usually takes between 2 to 3 hours ( weather permitting ) and covers on average between 40 to 50km. The pace is comfortable and we usually stop half way around for a coffee or tea.

A second group also goes on a weekly spin every Sunday morning at 10.00am sharp leaving from Moby Dicks Pub by the Clock Gate. This spin which runs on various routes every week usually takes around 3 hours to complete and covers on average between 30 to 40km. The pace is again very comfortable. This is an ideal group for anyone interested in taking up the sport.

A ladies group spin has also being orgainised for Saturday mornings at 9.00am. Anyone interested in attending should contact the club Secretary for details.

New members or visitors to the area are always welcome. If you have any questions about the club or attending one of our weekend spins, please contact our Club Secretary Jonathan at 086-8563292 for details. See you all Sunday Morning !!. Until next week, safe cycling !!.

Youghal C.C. Counter Attack The Snow By Going MTB In Killeagh Woods - Sunday 28th November

With the roads snowed over last weekend, there was no road spins organized for the club so a few of us, with Mountain Bikes, headed for Killeagh Woods for a good work out in the snow. Four of us gathered at the Thatch car park fro 9.30am and hit the trails hard in order to get warmed up. Suitably warmed up, we covered the various loops and trails around the wood while taking in the short sharp climbs and technical descents. All in all, a good hard workout for those who participated.
