Youghal Cycling Club

Youghal town has a proud tradition of cycling with a club in existence since the 1950s. A very successful juvenile section that challenged for national titles was in existence in the early 1990s. Over the years all disciplines of cycling have been participated in by members from grass track racing in the early years to competitive road racing, mountain biking and cyclo-cross. Currently the club is focused on the leisure/sportive side of cycling taking part in the ever increasing number of events that form part of Cycling Ireland's leisure calendar. With the burgeoning gravel events calendar taking shape in Ireland the group have targeted a number to participate in such as the 100km Lakelander Gravel Grinder in Fermanagh and The Galway Gravel Grinder.

A very successful Spring racing league series is run off annually on the local Gortroe circuit. This fun, competitive league allows members to enjoy a good workout with riders grouped according to ability, with groups handicapped it provides exciting racing.

Club membership has grown strongly in the past number of years and actively growing with both male and female members participating in a wide range of cycling challenge events both at home and abroad.
