TREASURER'S REPORT: as of January 24, 2017

To begin the new year I am required to correct the Checking Account values I listed for the January issue of our newsletter. These values do not influence the final Balance of $533.03 but do clarify how this value was obtained. The first error was in regards for the $500.00 in Transfer of Funds from the Savings Account which I neglected to include in the Account listing as income. The second error involved the Income from Memberships received which was actually $20.00 not $200.00. So now on to the January records.

SAVINGS ACCOUNT: I will begin this year with reporting on the value of this account only on a quarterly basis as most of the time there is only a very small amount of interest added. I do this to save time reporting this value and I feel to lessen space required in the newsletter for this information. So I will report in April, July, October and at the end of the year. If there is a large change I will make a report.

CHECKING ACCOUNT:

December 28, 2016 Balance as updated $533.03

Income 100.00

Expenses paid 75.00

January 24, 2017 Balance $558.03

The income was from a check to Brad Kasperek, our Show Judge and Judges Training instructor at the 2014 Southgate Mall show. I sent him a check at the beginning of 2015 and this check has never been cashed, therefore I decided to void the check and will write him a new one this year if there is a request for this to be done. The Expense was for $25.00 to be used by the Region 11 for a gift basket at the 2017 American Iris Convention in Iowa this Spring. I also sent $50.00 to our Region 11 Vice-President to assist with covering her 2017 expenses. The check for the total amount of $75.00 above was sent to Jeanette Graham on January 9, 2017, as she will be gathering items for the basket.

Respectfully submitted,

Swede Gustafson, Treasurer
