TREASURER'S REPORT
There has not been a plethora of activity with the finances during the month of November. I have made only one deposit and paid one expenditure since I made the last report for the November newsletter. The Savings account remains stable at $13,824.89. The checking account is as follows:
October 22, reported balance $580.22
Deposit 267.00
Expense Paid 60.00
November 25, 2014 balance $787.22
The deposit is a refund from Lee Procurement Enterprises for excess charges MIS paid for the Iris Rhizomes sale advertisements. Thanks to Fred Frey for checking into the cost for the sale ads. The expense paid was to Paul Ronaldo Sprinklers for winterizing the Fort Garden sprinkler system.
I took it upon myself to scrap out the old lawnmower in our storage shed as it would not run and we have not used it in three years. I drained the oil from the motor and removed the spark plug then delivered the mower to Pacific Steel Recycling and got $3.00 for the mower. Not much in the way of funds but a large gain of space in the storage shed.
I am anxiously waiting to receive renewals of membership payments from the Society members. The following people have paid their dues for 2015: Larry and Kim Ashwell, Edd Verplancke, Anita Cervenak, Gary Clark, Swede and Betty Ann Gustafson, Ernie Lucero, and Jeanne Werner. Nancy Ryan is paid up through 2016. I would appreciate the membership renewals of $10.00 per person be paid by 20th of January so the 2015 membership list can be published in time for the February newsletter and for the Iris Show chairs to correctly report the numbers on the applications for 2015 affiliation to the AIS show committee chair which needs to be turned in during the month of February.
I have included as part of this December newsletter the proposed budget for the expenses of the Society
During 2015. This budget will be discussed as part of the January 2015 MIS annual meeting. Any of the budget values may be revised by the membership present at this meeting prior to its acceptance by the membership.
