2010 MEMBERSHIP DUES: The new year has begun and it’s time to start collecting for the new year memberships. This is the last month that we will be asking for dues to be paid. If you have not paid your dues by this month, you will be removed from our list and will not receive any future notices or newsletters. Dues are $9.00/person. Please see our Treasurer, Swede Gustafson at the meeting to pay your dues.

Meeting locations needed for April , October and November 2010. Call Carol Addeo at 251-5833 if you would like to host one of our meetings at your home in 2010.

The Billings club sells their rhizomes at the Billings Farmers Market downtown on the four Saturdays in July from 8:30 a.m. - Noon for $1.00 each.

February Minutes of the Missoula Iris Society submitted by Jim Sadler secretary

The meeting was called to order by President Ed Verplancke at 7:25 P.M. on February 6, 2010 at Billie Gray’s residence. Attending the meeting was 13 members.

Minutes of the January 9, 2010 meeting were read and were corrected as follows: President Ed stated he did not state that he intended to appoint himself chair of the Median show. The January Treasurers budget which had been amended by adding $435.00 should have stated that the budget should have been amended to for $300.00 for newsletter and $135.00 for web site charge. Cindy Davis moved and Donna Dowell seconded that the minutes b e approved as corrected. The motion passed.

The treasurers’ report was given by Swede Gustafson. Checking Account as of Dec 31, 2009 was $4406.56: paid bills due to Ed Verplancke of $48.76 for card file work and to Linda Sadler of $32.99 for Sunshine for Donna Dowell. He deposited $119.00 for memberships. He transferred $2000 out of checking account to the Savings Account. These actions leave a January 31`, 2010 balance of $2443.81 in checking account. Savings Account as of December 31, 2009 balance was $4745.39 and with the funds transferred in from the checking account gives a January 31, 2010 balance of $6745.39.

The audit committee of Alverta and Bob Symes reviewed the records for 2009 and found all records were correct except for two typo errors found in the computer check register. Cindy Davis moved to accept the Treasurers report and Alayne Hitditch seconded the motion. The motion passed.

Old Business: Ron Dowell gave a report on the Canopies ordered at Sportsman Wholesale Surplus. He stated he must go to another store to purchase as Sportsman Wholesale Surplus no longer is in business.

Donna Dowell expressed her thanks for the flowers she received when she was ill.

Betty Ann Gustafson thanked the society for the sympathy card she received on the account of the passing of her mother.

Betty Ann Gustafson gave a report on the June 12 show. She stated that Donna Dowell is on the show committee for the show.

Pete Addeo moved to post pone the Median show to 2011. Ron Dowell seconded the motion. The motion passed.

Carol Addeo gave a report on meeting locations. She stated that April 3 and May 7 are still open.

Ron Dowell moved we meet at the China Bowl. Donna Dowell seconded the motion. The motion passed.

Carol Addeo and Pete Addeo volunteered to be the Chairs of the Sale. President Ed duly appointed them to the position.

Billie Gray thanked the society for offering to pay for the Christmas Turkeys but turned the offer down. Stating she would prefer the money to be donated to the Garden. Billie announced a Landscape class at the extension office is forming. If you are interested you should contact her

New Business: Rhizome winner for January was Donna Dowell for February Pete Addeo.
