Rush Hour (1998)

This classic 90s buddy cop movie paired action superstar Jackie Chan with comedian Chris Tucker in locations throughout Los Angeles.

The Hong Kong banquet dinner was filmed at the famed Ennis House, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and built in 1924 at 2607 Glendower Avenue in Los Feliz.

We are introduced to Carter (Tucker) as he conducts an undercover bust with Clive (Chris Penn). He turns off of Spring Street across Main Street and into the parking lot for the "Spring Street Diner" - which is now an empty parking lot.

As Clive makes a break for it, Carter shoots the explosives in the trunk, turning the car into a giant fireball in the middle of the 9th & Main intersection.

The Chinese Consulate was played by the same estate used as the original "Wayne Manor" in the Batman TV series (and countless productions since) - 380 South San Rafael Avenue in Pasadena.

After sitting in traffic on 4th Street, the car with the consulate's daughter Soo Yung (Julia Hsu) is redirected onto South Hope Street outside the Ketchum-Downtown YMCA.

Sang (Ken Leung) makes a bloody mess out of the driver at approximately 400 South Hope Street.

After escaping on foot down Hope Place, Soo Yung is soon scooped up and tossed in a waiting van at South Grand Avenue.

The "China Exposition" is being set up at the northern entrance to the Los Angeles Convention Center - across from Gilbert Lindsay Plaza.

The "Los Angeles Premiere Airport" where Carter picks up Lee was filmed at the Long Beach Airport.

Carter and Lee get off the Vine Street exit off Highway 101 onto Vine Street towards the Capitol Records Building.

Carter takes Lee to Grauman's Chinese Theater at 6925 Hollywood Blvd. in Hollywood, where he talks to his star map selling informant (John Hawkes).

Lee ditches Carter on a tour bus down Hollywood Blvd and Carter hangs on around North Orange Drive.

They are then suddenly traveling north on Vine Street past 1645 Vine St.

Lee then makes his escape via the Hollywood Blvd sign at Vine. The Taft Building is behind him. He then hops in a taxi (via an RV) and rides off.

Carter confiscates a motorcycle right in front of the Capitol Records Building at 1750 Vine Street to give pursuit.

Carter cuts off the taxi on Yucca Street at Vine and they end up in a Mexican standoff with the taxi driver.

They walk back to Carter's car at the parking lot adjacent to the Capitol Records Building at 1720 Vine Street with the "Hollywood Jazz" mural behind them.

The "Azteca" pool hall was at 1373 W 24th Street.

Carter leaves Lee handcuffed to the steering wheel while he grabs food at Daly Market at 2235 Daly Street in Lincoln Heights. He comes out to find Lee and his steering wheel missing.

Lee gives the consulate's security team the slip at the gate to Greystone Mansion at 905 Loma Vista Drive in Beverly Hills. However, the section of wall he springs over appears to be a setpiece.

Sang lures the police downtown and triggers a massive explosion at 556 South Broadway.

The ensuing fight sequence ends up on the 3rd floor of the Spring Arcade Building at 541 South Spring Street, where Carter and Lee come crashing down and are nearly run over by an escaping Sang. Since filming, this has been renovated into an upscale indoor dining complex.

Carter and Lee stakeout the actual Foo Chow Restaurant at 959 North Hill Street, across from the West Gate to Chinatown.

The alley view of Lee and Carter facing off outside the Corvette is just to the north of the restaurant on Hill Street. The reverse angle is seen later as a back alley behind the restaurant.

While waiting, they grab food across the street just inside the West Gate. As they walk and talk, they are right outside 986 Gin Ling Way.

The actual interior of the Foo Chow Restaurant was utilized, and still looks very similar today. They even advertise that the film was shot there. The upstairs bad guy den that gets trashed in the ensuing fight was of course, a set.

The big action showcase at the end was back at the LA Convention Center.
