Mischief (1985)

Jonathan (Doug McKeon) has never had much luck with the ladies, which all changes the day the rebellious Gene (Chris Nash) moves in next door and the two become friends. Soon Jonathan find himself over his head as he goes out with his dream girl Marilyn (Kelly Preston). This teen coming-of-age story takes place in rural Ohio in the 1950s, and for once the filmmakers actually shot on location - choosing to use the small town atmosphere of Nelsonville.

Jonathan is seen driving around the north end of the Nelsonville Public Square on Fort Street at East Washington Street.

We catch a quick glimpse of Rosalie's (Jami Gertz) house at 62 East Washington Street as Jonathan goes barreling by.

Distracted by Marilyn, Jonathan runs into a fire hydrant in front of First Presbyterian Church at 69 East Washington Street.

Jonathan's house is located at 25 East Mound Street in Canal Winchester, OH.

Gene and his father are moving in next door at 31 East Mound Street.

Bunny (Catherine Mary Stewart) and her family live at 28 East Mound Street.

Gene and Jonathan bond while shooting baskets behind Gene's house at 31 East Mound.

Back at the Nelsonville Public Square for the carnival scene.

The entrance to the high school was filmed at Liberty Union High School in Baltimore, OH. The building they enter off West Washington Street and Union Street has since been torn down and replaced.

However, the entrance behind Gene and Jonathan as they walk up still survives today. This is seen later during the dance scene.

Interiors at the school were filmed in Hamilton Township High School at 1105 Rathmell Road in Obetz, OH.

The diner frequented by the characters in the film (and where Jami Gertz's character works) was located at the SW corner of West Columbus Street & the Public Square in Nelsonville.

Gene and Jonathan wreck the bike in the bushes after circling the Public Square in Nelsonville.

The clothing store that has its mannequins re-positioned in lewd acts was located on the NW corner opposite the diner at West Columbus Street and the Public Square.

The covered bridge leading to the barn is the Rock Mill Covered Bridge in Bloom, OH. Today it is closed to vehicular traffic. This is the barn where Jonathan and Marilyn make out in the car.

"Jerry's Drive-In" was actually Cadillac Jack's Drive-In & Diner at 9457 San Fernando Road in Sun Valley, CA.

Bunny runs out of Liberty Union High School to catch Gene, but is too late.

Jonathan and Bunny return to Rock Mill Bridge to find Gene.

Jonathan walks back to town to Bunny's house at 28 East Mound.

And makes his way back to the diner at the Nelsonville Public Square to get revenge on Kenny (D.W. Brown).

One last destructive car chase around the east end of the square leaves them heading east on East Washington Street, and ends with Kenny hitting a fire hydrant halfway down the block.

The car chase ends with Kenny hitting the same fire hydrant Jonathan did earlier.
