This low-budget horror flick from director Don Coscarelli became an instant hit and spawned a series of sequels. The original was filmed around Oakland and Los Angeles, CA.
The Morningside Cemetery and mansion were filmed on the grounds of the Dunsmuir Hellman Estate at 2960 Peralta Oaks Court in Oakland. The gate to the cemetery is the actual entrance gate of the estate. It is open to the public Tuesday through Friday. See their website for more information.
