Night of the Comet (1984)
Regina (Catherine Mary Stewart) is an ordinary teenager living in Los Angeles who works at a movie theater and enjoys playing the arcade games (see her other 1984 film The Last Starfighter). One morning, she wakes up to discover a comet has wiped out the population of the city and turned the people to dust. Together with her sister Samantha (Kelli Maroney), they search the desolate city for other survivors and fend off mutated zombies. Oh yeah, and they do a little shopping too. Most of the film takes place around downtown Los Angeles.
Regina works at the El Rey Theater at 5515 Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles. This was also seen in License to Drive.

Reggie pulls up next to an empty Mercedes on South Grand Avenue where it meets West 3rd Street in downtown LA.
This shot looks west from approximately 321 Boyd Street.
Although the above shot is about all we see of the outside of the house, Reggie and Sandy live at 19174 Dunure Place in San Fernando Valley.
We do get to see the reverse angle of Reggie standing in the street, looking toward 19181 Dunure Place.
In this shot, Reggie and Sandy are on the second level of an outdoor courtyard at approximately 787 West 5th Street, across from the Los Angeles Public Library. The building looks quite a bit different now, and likely is a completely new structure.
They are near the same location when they use an old car for target practice. They are standing on South Hope Street...
...looking toward the Hastings & City National Towers (with the Jonathan Club building between them). This whole block was torn out (including all the buildings behind them in the first shot) and replaced with the US Bank Tower in 1989 (now the tallest building in Los Angeles). Where the street was, there is now a staircase connecting Hope Street & 5th Street.

The final scene of the film takes place at the crosswalk on South Hope Street between the Bank of American Plaza and The Court of the Wells Fargo Center. Here, Reggie and family stand on the west side of South Hope Street in front of the Bank of America Plaza...
...while Sandy is seen on the east side in front of The Court at Wells Fargo Center.
The final shot is looking south down South Hope Street.
