This film starred the two Coreys (Haim & Feldman), Jason Robards, and Meredith Salenger. The entire film was shot in Wilmington, NC.
The opening shot with Coleman (Jason Robards) on the stage and the end credits sequence were shot in the Thalian Hall Center for the Performing Arts at 310 Chestnut Street.
The high school seen in the film was New Hanover High School at 1307 Market Street.
The Ettinger house in the film was at 1319 Princess Street. The alley behind the house was also seen extensively in the film.
Toward the start of the film, a view looking down Market Street between North Water Street & North Front Street is shown.
The restaurant in the film is the Riverboat Landing at 2 Market Street.
Gena (Piper Laurie) & Ike (Harry Dean Stanton) have a talk while Coleman does yoga on the waterfront park across from the Federal Building on North Water Street.
Soon after this, Gena & Coleman are seen here again, this time with the USS North Carolina behind them.
Shots of the rear of Bobby's house were done at 1705 Princess Street.
Bobby's house was located at 1916 Princess Street.
At one point, Bobby is seen waiting on one of the staircases on the north side of the high school on Princess Street.
Lainie (Meredith Salenger) and Bobby lay on the hood of his car in the park adjacent to the USS North Carolina. The Federal Building can be seen across the river.
Lainie's house is located at 209 Nun Street.
The alley scene was filmed in Quince Alley, near the Riverboat Landing restaurant.
