The agents and a group of mounties observe the bridge from a clifftop on the SE side.

The small cabin where they hide out was built by the film crew on the east side of the river from the bridge.

Eliot confronts Capone as he and his entourage descend the stairs of Roosevelt University.

The shot of Malone outside the theater appears to be the SE corner of the City National Bank & Trust Building at 208 South LaSalle (looking south toward the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago Building).

The opera house staircase where Capone makes a statement to the press is the Grand Staircase of the Chicago Cultural Center at 78 East Washington Street.

Capone and Pagliacci (James Guthrie) share a toast in Preston Bradley Hall on the third floor of the Chicago Cultural Center.

Ness and Stone race down South LaSalle Street to catch Walter Payne (Jack Kehoe) before he leaves town.

We see them arrive at the main entrance to Union Station at 210 South Canal Street.

They then stakeout the staircase through these doors, where the climactic slow-motion shootout takes place.

During Capone's trial at the end of the film, Ness and the bailiff (Pat Billingsley) pull Nitti out to the lobby to check his gun. This was filmed in the Grand Army of the Republic Rotunda on the second floor (from the north entrance) of the Chicago Cultural Center.

The gunfight and chase between Nitti and Ness takes place on the roof of the Chicago Cultural Center. The Pittsfield Building can be seen behind Ness in several of the shots.

The staircase where Ness pursues Nitti is on the north end of the building, just off the Grand Army of the Republic Rotunda. The exterior of this staircase is where Nitti is later downclimbing on the rope. This courtyard is visible from the inside as you walk through the building.

Ness gives Nitti one last push off the SW corner of the roof. The Michigan Boulevard Building is to the right.

The final shot of the film shows Eliot leaving the Rookery Building and walking south down LaSalle Street.
