Twins (1988)

Ivan Reitman directed Arnold Schwarzenegger to his first mainstream comedy hit with this film that paired him with Danny DeVito as long-lost test tube twins Julius and Vincent Benedict. The film takes place in Los Angeles.

Opening scenes introducing us to Julius on a fictional South Pacific island were filmed at the now-defunct Marineland of the Pacific at 6610 Palos Verdes Drive South in Rancho Palos Verdes. Today, the space is occupied by a luxury resort called Terranea.

We see Vincent sneaking out of a house at 863 Gramercy Drive in Wilshire Park.

Vincent meets up with sisters Marnie (Kelly Preston) and Linda (Chloe Webb) outside the restaurant where they work at 312 Wilshire Boulevard in Santa Monica.

Julius is seen arriving at Tom Bradley International Airport (LAX).

We then see him pass by several locations along Hollywood Boulevard including the former Numero Uno Pizza at 6504 Hollywood Blvd.

Julius and Vincent first unknowingly encounter each other outside what is now the TCL Chinese Theatre at 6925 Hollywood Boulevard.

The parking garage where Al (David Caruso) works is at 127 Burchett Street in Glendale.

The orphanage was filmed at Mary Andrews Clark Memorial Home at 306 South Loma Drive in Westlake.

Julius picks up Vincent behind the Van Nuys Courthouse at 14400 Erwin Street in Van Nuys.

Vincent's office is located in the Hollywood First National Building at 6777 Hollywood Boulevard.

Exteriors of the supermarket where Julius does the 2-wheel driving stunt were filmed at Von's Supermarket at 301 North Pass Avenue in Burbank.

Exteriors of Vincent's house were shot at 323 11th Street in Santa Monica.

Julius tracks down one of his fathers at 1126 Hillcrest Avenue in Pasadena.

On their road trip to New Mexico, the group crosses over the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge on Highway 64 near Taos, NM - currently the 7th highest bridge in the United States.

The twins go suit shopping on East San Francisco Street in Santa Fe, NM. The Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi is in the background.

While in NM, the twins stay at the Sun God Lodge at 919 Paseo Del Pueblo Sur in Taos.

Julius and Vincent seek out their mother at the Mabel Dodge Luhan House at 240 Morada Lane in Taos. This is a working inn open to the public.

The small roadside cafe was located at 619 NM-150 in Arroyo Seco. Although a private residence now stands in its place, the location is still recognizable.

The final showdown that supposedly takes place in Texas was actually filmed the Carson Sewer Treatment Plant at 24501 South Figueroa Street in Carson, CA.

The final scene of the film takes place at the Griffith Park Merry-Go-Round in Los Angeles, on the east side of the park off Crystal Springs Drive.
