The Terminator (1984)

One of the greatest sci-fi movies to come out of the 80s - The Terminator stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as a cyborg assassin sent back in time to kill Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) because in the future her son will play a large role in the war against the machines. Kyle Reese (Michael Biehn) is sent back by the resistance to get to Sarah first. This film takes place entirely throughout the Los Angeles area. 

The terminator teleports to Griffith Obersvatory in Griffith Park, where he looks out over the skyline of Los Angeles.

The alleyway where Reese materializes is on West 7th Street in downtown Los Angeles, between South Broadway & South Spring Street.

Sarah works as a waitress at "Big Jeff's Restaurant," actually Carrow's Family Restaurant at 815 Fremont Avenue in South Pasadena. 

The "Alamo Sport Shop" is at 14329 Victory Boulevard in Van Nuys. It is now a used auto lot.

Later, the terminator returns to this exact same spot to use the phone booth (it was located on the sidewalk outside the gun shop). 

The "Tech Noir" club is now JPB Jewelry Box Company at 718 South Hill Street in downtown Los Angeles. 

The parking garage chase sequence was filmed in the Department of Water & Power at 830 West 1st Street in Los Angeles.

Kyle and Sarah bunk up in room #9 of the Tiki Motel at 7301 Santa Fe Avenue in Huntington Park. 

The chase resumes in the West 2nd Street tunnel between South Figueroa and Hill Street. This is the entrance off S. Figueroa.

The factory showdown was filmed in Kern's of California, now Pilot Automotive at 13010 East Temple Avenue in City of Industry.

The gas station in Mexico where Sarah is seen at the end of the film is the Four Aces Movie Set, which has been used in countless productions over the years.
