The Big Picture (1989)

The Big Picture stars Kevin Bacon as recent film school grad Nick Chapman, who follows his dreams and moves to Hollywood - but soon finds out the film industry isn't all it's cracked up to be. This film shows off some terrific landmark Los Angeles locations.

The "National Film Institute" awards ceremony is held in the Ballroom of the Park Plaza Hotel at 607 South Park View Street

The camera-shaped facade of the former Camera Store at 5370 Wilshire Boulevard served as a restaurant where Nick dines with best friend Emmett (Michael McKean).

Nick is seen driving down Sunset Boulevard past the old DGA headquarters at 7920 Sunset Blvd.

Nick enters Warner Brothers Studios on the north side, off West Olive Avenue

Nick and girlfriend Susan (Emily Longstreth) drive down Hollywood Boulevard between Whitley Avenue & Schrader Boulevard.

Gretchen (Teri Hatcher) drives Nick to the party along the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu.

Emmett lives at 2049 Kerwood Avenue in Century City.

Nick's Beverly Hills apartment is actually the Harper House in West Hollywood (at 13346 North Harper Avenue).

Nick makes Emmett stand outside the car as he takes a call at The Cinema Apartments at 1205 North Cahuenga Boulevard

Nick checks out the "Daily Variety" at Sherman Oaks Newsstand at the corner of Van Nuys Boulevard & Ventura Boulevard

The cabin from "Abe & The Babe" is part of the set at Paramount Ranch in Agoura Hills and still stands today. This park is free to the public.

Nick has a chance reunion with Lydia (Jennifer Jason Leigh) outside the Vista Theatre at 4473 Sunset Drive.

Lydia takes Nick back to her place at 1009 North Madison Avenue

Nick helps Lydia shoot the music video for the "Pez People" on the top of the parking garage for The Dome Entertainment Center at 6360 Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood. The dome of the Cinerama theater can be seen behind them.
