Hiding Out (1987)
This cheesy 80s comedy stars Jon Cryer as a young stock broker who must testify against a mob boss and is soon running for his life. His brilliant plan for laying low is posing as a high school student and quickly becoming the most popular guy there. Opening scenes take place in Boston then the action moves to Wilmington, NC.
The bad guys first catch up to Andrew at the Blue Diner (now the South Street Diner) at 178 Kneeland Street in downtown Boston.
He is soon running for his life into South Station at the corner of Summer Street & Atlantic Avenue.
Andrew calls Patrick (Keith Coogan) and changes his look at Huckelberry's Diner at 7617 Carolina Beach Road in Wilmington.
High school scenes were filmed at the Tileston School at 412 Ann Street in Wilmington.
Andrew and Ryan (Annabeth Gish) go on a date at Airlie Gardens at 300 Airlie Road in Wilmington.
