The Wild Life (1984)

Writer/director Cameron Crowe's follow-up to the hugely successful Fast Times at Ridgemont High, this hard-to-find movie similarly follows a group of teenagers facing the challenges of growing up (with a lot of humor mixed in). The film was shot entirely in the Los Angeles area.

"Alexander High School" was shot at Torrance High School at 2200 West Carson Street, Torrance, CA.

The bowling alley where Tom (Chris Penn) & Bill (Eric Stoltz) work was Marlindo Lanes in Burbank, which was torn down shortly after filming.

The old Broadway Department Store at 401 South Broadway in downtown Los Angeles was turned into "Fashion Dynasty," the clothes store in the film where Eileen (Jenny Wright) and Harry (Rick Moranis) work.

The "Club Horizon" apartment complex that Tom & Bill move into was formerly the Riverside Inn and before that the E'Qestre Inn at 1200 Riverside Drive in Burbank. However, the building has been completely remodeled since then and looks much different. The pool has remained unchanged though!

The exterior shots of "Surplus City" where Jim (Iian Mitchell-Smith) goes shopping was formerly Surplus City Jeep Parts at 11782 Sheldon Street, Sun Valley, CA. The interiors were built as a set. Arnold fans may also recognize this location from Commando.
