Breakin 2: Electric Boogaloo (1984)

The awesome but probably unnecessary sequel to Breakin' came out the very same year. Kelly (Lucinda Dickey) reunites with Ozone (Adolfo Quinones) and Turbo (Michael Chambers) to help save the local community center from being torn down by greedy land developers. How? By dancing of course!  The film takes place mostly around east Los Angeles

The small shack that Turbo and Ozone live in is in the back yard of 2744 Guirado Street in Boyle Heights.

The empty dirt lot adjacent to their place (to the east) has since been built on.

As the procession moves down the street, a postal worker busts out some moves in front of 2753 Guirado Street (seen across the street in the previous shot).

A pair of landscapers get into the groove outside 2744 Guirado Street.

A guy in a lowrider looks on as the officer giving him a ticket starts dancing and joins the group on Guirado Street outside 656 Orme Avenue

As they come down the hill, the group meets up with some breakers in the street at the SE corner of Guirado Street and Orme Avenue

The procession comes over a hill to the bandstand in Hollenbeck Park in Boyle Heights (which dates to 1931), where Turbo sees Lucia (Sabrina Garcia) performing onstage.

They turn and head down the street toward "Miracles" community center, actually La Casa del Mexicano at 2900 Calle Pedro Infante

The dance-off under the bridge took place under the Lorena Bridge (East 4th Street) in Boyle Heights. They come down from South Lorena Street

Ozone and Kelly walk through Hollenbeck Park.

And later Kelly returns to the park with Turbo.

For the groundbreaking scene of Turbo dancing on the ceiling of his studio, a special "gimbal" set was redressed and reused from another 1984 release - A Nightmare On Elm Street. I haven't been able to find evidence of which studio this was shot at.

Kelly and her mom go shopping at Kangaroos - now The Spot Beauty Supply & Salon at 10909 Weyburn Avenue in Westwood.

As they load the car, Kelly watches a breakdancer on the corner of Weyburn & South Westwood Boulevard

The "Save Our Streets" campaigners take their fight to Los Angeles City Hall at 200 North Spring Street

After stealing the survey equipment, Turbo leads a chase down Camulos Street toward East 6th Street in Boyle Heights.

As he turns west at the end of East 6th Street, he tumbles down a staircase.
