Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986)

One of the quintessential films of the decade, John Hughes' classic story follows the misadventures of Ferris (Matthew Broderick) as he tries to get away with taking a day off school. He makes his way to the big city with girlfriend Sloane (Mia Sara) and best pal Cameron (Alan Ruck), all the while pursued by the obsessive school principal Ed Rooney (Jeffrey Jones). The film (as many of Hughes' films) takes place in suburban Illinois. Thanks to Chas at Itsfilmedthere for helping track down a few of these.

The Bueller house is located at 4160 Country Club Drive in Long Beach, CA.

Cameron's house is the Ben Rose House at 370 Beech Street in Highland Park, IL.

Tom Bueller's office is 333 West Wacker Drive in Chicago  (seen from across the river).

The exterior entrance to the high school was shot at the south entrance to Glenbrook North High School at 2300 Shermer Road in Northbrook, IL (John Hughes's alma mater). Ed Rooney's office was the only interior scene done here.

Interior shots of the high school were filmed at the former Maine North High School at 9511 Harrison Street in Des Plaines, IL. Also used in The Breakfast Club, the building is now used as a police station.

Upon arriving in downtown Chicago, Ferris parks in a garage at approximately 172 West Madison Street.

The "Chez Luis Restaurant" was at 22 W. Schiller in Chicago.

After lunch, the gang's first stop is the Skydeck of Sears Tower (now Willis Tower) at 233 South Wacker Drive.

The next stop on their tour of the city is the Chicago Mercantile Exchange Building at 20 South Wacker Drive

The interior of the pizza place where Rooney looks for Ferris was located at 11645 San Vicente Blvd. in Brentwood, Los Angeles (thanks to Iamnotastalker)

They next attend a Cubs game at Wrigley Field at 1060 West Addison Street in Chicago.

After that, they go to the Art Institute of Chicago at 111 South Michigan Avenue.

The parade scene was filmed downtown on South Dearborn Street. At one point, Cameron and Sloane are seen standing in front of the sculpture between Adams & Jackson.

This is the interior elevator lobby of the Daley Center, also seen at the end of Blues Brothers

The "Save Ferris" water tower is near the end of 1st Street in Northbrook, IL.

Cameron needs some time to cool off at a park at the east end of Park Avenue in Glencoe, IL.

An empty warehouse was redressed as a police station at 635 Mateo Street in Los Angeles. It was also used as the police station in Beverly Hills Cop (thanks to Iamnotastalker).
