My Science Fair Project

My Science Fair Project was to find a different bubble solution than the bubbles we use in modern day. I chose this experiment because I wanted to find out if there were any bubble generators besides the chemicals that were originally in a bubble bottle at the store. Unfortunately, my hypothesis was wrong but that meant that I learned something new. The corn syrup bubbles lasted longer before they popped even though they were the smallest.

What is the procedure? How do you found the answer to your prediction?

In order to find the better quality bubble, I would create a bubble on a surface using the liquid and a straw. When I blew the bubble till it popped, I used a ruler to measure the ring of the bubble. The size of the bubble declared on what bubble worked best. I used the steps on two bubble solutions I had in mind, and they were store-bought bubbles and corn syrup bubbles. I preformed the experiment and recorded all of my info. onto a data table. I analyzed my work and saw that the regular store-bought bubbles were nine and a half cm. long while the bubbles that were created by corn syrup would be half of an in. long.

Business Wise: Which bubble solution would you buy? The one that is most expensive but fun or the cheap one that's not as entertaining?

The corn syrup bubbles lasted longer before they popped even though they were the smallest. If a bubble pops very quickly, then you would have to use more bubble liquid, but when the bottle runs out of liquid, you would have to buy more. If the corn syrup bubbles didn't pop as quickly, then that means they can save money. But in this world, whatever is the best quality is worth putting a lot of effort into. The store bought bubbles were vast, so children would have more fun with larger bubbles, in most opinions. But since the brand has good quality, it'll probably be most expensive.

What did this project teach me?

Unfortunately, my hypothesis was wrong but that meant that I learned something new. Some other ideas on how to create bubbles might've been performed by the inventor of bubbles. Leading to the conclusion that store-bought bubbles work the best, as for the bubble solution expert Jackie Lin. Or maybe there are hundreds and hundreds of more ideas and predictions you can think of that could even lead to a better bubble solution than ever before.
