Which trench design straight or zig-zag, obsorbs the most shock from an explotion

Question-Which trench design, straight or zig-zag,obsorbs the most shock from an explosion.

Hypothesis-I predict the zig-zag trench will absorb more shock because the shock might hit the wall from the zig-zag and stop or slow down.

Procedure

1. Build two trenches one straight and one zig-zag that are three feet long by six inches tall out of plexi glass.

2. Fill the trench with fresh water dyed blue to the five inch mark.

3. Put a funnel at the start of the trench and that will drop the marble into the water.

4. See wear the ripples stop and wright the number down in inches.

5. Test this five times and make a graph that records my data.

Risk and Saftey- Wear safety goggles when drilling in screws in the Plexiglas.

Data Analysis- I will measure wear the ripples stop and put the data in a graph. Repeating this five times.

The Zig-Zag trench was successful in the end with an average of 17 inches. The Straight trench didn't do so well with an average of 24 inches
