Do Boys And Girls Think Alike?

Aidan Bradley

Question- Do Boys And Girls Think Alike?

Hypothesis- I thought that they would think alike, but a few would have a different answer.

Procedure-

1. Determined who were my members and made sure it was an even number of boys and girls

2. Found optical illusions that have two ways to see them

3. Brought each member into a room one by one and asked them what they saw for five different optical illusions

4. Recorded their answer as I went through

5. Looked at the final results to get my answer

Conclusion- In conclusion boys and girls think a like, but sometimes they don't think alike and come up with different answers and thoughts.

Abstract-

Do Girls And Boys Think Alike?

My question was to see if boys see and think as a whole and do the girls do the same. I wanted to know if boys and girls kind of have the same thoughts and ideas when they see things. My hypothesis was that not everything they see will be the same sometimes they will think differently.

I first made sure there was an even amount of participants, so that way the test was fair. Secondly, I looked up optical illusions with two sides to them, like the old lady or the young woman.Next, I brought each participant into a room separately and asked them what they saw in each optical illusion picture. As they went through I recorded their answers. I then looked at the results and saw how many answers from the girls were the same and I did the same for the boys.

The results of my experiment came out well. First question I asked was if they saw the old or young woman, all three girls saw the young. 2 boys saw the young as well, but 1 of them saw the old woman. For one or two heads behind the candlestick, all three girls saw 2 heads, but 1 out of the three boys saw two heads, while the others saw one. When I asked if they saw the father or son-in-law, every girl and two boys saw the father. One of them say the son-in-law. I asked if they say the indian or the eskimo the outcome was two girls seeing just the indian and 1 girl saw both. Similarly, two boys saw the indian alone and one boy saw both. Finally, when I asked if they saw human figures in a picture one girl did see them, but two girls didn’t. Likely, one boy saw the figures while two boys did not.

In conclusion to my project I learned that boys and girls won’t always think alike for everything, but for the most part they can see eye to eye. My hypothesis was right because I knew that boys and girls can’t always think alike, but sometimes they will actually see and think the same things. I don’t think this was accurate because for every question 1 or 2 people answered differently. I think if I showed boys and girls pictures of what boys like, and what girls like to boys and girls and see how they feel about it. By doing that I would get better and more diverse answers.
