What stain remover works best?

Question: Which stain remover works best?

hypothesis: My hypothesis is that the shout stain remover would work the best.

Procedure:

  • The first thing I did was cut out cloth into the shape of little tiny tee-shirts

  • Next I put a colored dot on each shirt and on the bottles so I knew what stain remover It was.

  • Then one at a time I put on a spoonful of the stain which were Dressing,Mustard, and chocolate

  • Then I let the stain sit for an hour

  • Next I very lightly rinsed off the shirts so that i could spray them

  • I let the spray sit for 15 minutes

  • Then I washed them off

  • lastly I let them dry

Abstract

In My science fair project I was testing stain removers. The reason I picked this topic is because I am very clumsy and spill lots of things on my clothes and wanted to figure out what one would help the most. My hypothesis was that shout would work the best.

The first thing I did was cut up tee shirts so I did not need to cover as much. Next I took a spoonful of each stain and put them on the shirts.I let the stains set for one hour The stains I used were cochlet, musterd, and dressing i chose those three things because I believed that would be the best to test because they stain very bad. Then I rinsed them off lightly and sprayed them each seven times and let the remover sit for fifteen minutes, then washed them and let them dry.

The observation i figured out is that oxiclean works the best out of all three. The oxiclean worked the best the shout worked the second best and as i predicted the bargain brand worked the worst. The oxiclean got all of them mostly out the shout got some mostly out and the bargain brand got none of them out you could not wear them in public.

my hypothesis was not correct because I predicted that shout would work the best on all of them and I was oxi clean really worked the best overall .The thing I learned from this project is that shout stain remover works the best. The one thing I could have done to improve my project is I could have put the shirts in the wash after putting on the stain remover.

Conclusion

The data I found was that shout did half the work and oxi-clean did all of it, the store brand was not helpful. My hypothesis was wrong I thought that shout would work best but it turns out OxiClean did the job. I do think my experiment was accurate. To improve the experiment I could have put them in the washer at the end instead of hand washing them.
