It's virtually impossible not to be able to find this waterfall if you're driving through the Columbia River Gorge east of Portland. To get to this waterfall take the Multnomah Falls exit (#31) from I-84 or follow the Historic Columbia River Highway to the lodge and waterfall (lots of signs). This waterfall is easily the most famous in the gorge and for good reason. However, I recommend arriving at the waterfall early in the morning to have an opportunity to enjoy it with the least amount of people around. If you wait until lunch time (especially in the summer) you'll have trouble even finding space on the Benson Bridge to walk. I also recommend taking the Larch Mountain Trail up to the brink of the falls and to other waterfalls further upstream (Dutchman Falls, Wiesendanger Fall, and Ecola Fall).
