Despite not being a very impressive waterfall it does have the distinction of being one of the few Sierra Nevada waterfalls in the State of Nevada. This waterfall is located along the trail to the top of Mt Rose (hike description here). In the summer the waterfall marks the end of the trail for families out for a day hike. Be sure to arrive at the trailhead as early as possible as it serves as the trailhead for the Truckee Meadows Loop (across the Mt Rose Highway from the parking area) as well.Location

Immediately, follow the trail to the right which starts to climb and skirts the eastern and northern side of Tamarack Peak (the left trail is the Tahoe Rim Trail which leads on a longer route on the southern side of Tamarack Peak (original trail). Along the way there are great views looking to the east and northeast. At ~2.3 miles the trail passes just below the waterfall, crosses the creek and continues towards Mt Rose.
