McCloud River Falls

Directions

To get to these waterfalls head east on CA-89 from I-5 near Mt Shasta for ~15.4 miles and turn right onto Folwers Public Camp Road. Follow this for ~0.6 miles to an intersection. To get to the Upper Falls turn left here and follow the road (Upper Fall Road) for ~1.5 miles before turning right. Follow this road for ~0.4 miles as it curves to the right (north) before ending at the trailhead for the Upper Falls. From the parking area directly S of the Upper Falls take a short walk to several viewpoints of the Upper Falls. Unfortunately, these viewpoints provide a limited view of the waterfall. A better viewpoint would be from the opposite bank (not sure about access and if this is private property). About 0.9 miles east of the Fowlers Public Camp Road/Upper Fall Road intersection is a parking area for the Middle Falls off the south side of the Upper Fall Road. Views of the Middle Falls are available From the viewing platforms directly N of the falls (south of the parking lot), but I highly recommend (if you are able) taking the river trail (steep) down to the river and base of the waterfall (~0.30 miles round-trip) as the Middle Falls are the gem of the three. To get to the Lower Falls continue on Fowlers Public Camp Road ~0.7 miles from the intersection with Upper Fall Road (staying right at an intersection just south of Upper Fall Road). Here, you'll find a parking area just south of the Lower Falls. Walk a short distance to the north (along path) to the several viewpoints of the Lower Falls.
